LANXESS was listed in the authoritative global sustainable development index

LANXESS, a German special chemicals group, released information on September 13, saying that it would enter the Dow Jones World Sustainable Development Index (DJSI) to be released on September 19 for the first time. This authoritative global sustainable development index is compiled once a year based on economic, ecological and social standards. Low friction coefficient and noise

"sustainable economic success can be achieved only by making efforts in environmental friendliness and society. This belief is an integral part of Langham Sundstrand's philosophy and why the principle of sustainable development is deeply rooted in our corporate strategy." Werner breuers, a member of the management board of LANXESS, stressed the important role of chemical enterprises in building a sustainable society: "after all, the chemical industry should contribute to environmental protection through products. Today, for every ton of greenhouse gas produced by chemical enterprises around the world in the process of producing mo2.5, they will reduce emissions by up to two and a half tons through their high-performance products."

in July this year, LANXESS joined the United Nations Global Compact, the world's largest and fastest-growing CSR program. Taking climate protection as an example, LANXESS pursues a very clear goal: by 2015, the unit carbon dioxide emissions and unit energy consumption of each business department will be reduced by 10%. LANXESS has reduced CO2 emissions by about 50% between 2007 and 2009

these sustainable standards and activities also enabled the independent evaluation agency oek testing standard om research in Munich to raise the enterprise rating of LANXESS to "C +" at the beginning of this year. This upgraded rating applies to both "social" and "environmental" categories

since April this year, LANXESS has also reached the standard for entering the FTSE4Good index. The companies included in this index are all enterprises with outstanding performance in environmental protection, human rights and social standards

it is understood that the world DJSI index follows the principle of "best in the industry": the included enterprises should not only meet the established economic, ecological and social standards, but only those enterprises with the best reputation for sustainable development in specific industries will be included. Among about 2500 enterprises surveyed by the world DJSI index every year, the top 10% of enterprises in each industry can be included. The assessment was conducted by an independent Swiss assessment agency Sam. According to the data of Dow Jones index and Sam, at present, investment managers in 16 countries regard Dow Jones Sustainability Index as one of the bases for equity investment decisions, and they make investment decisions on assets with a total value of more than 8billion US dollars
